The Big Payback 2023: A Decade of Giving

The Big Payback's 10th annual giving day event is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

The Big Payback is a community-wide online giving day designed to give the public the opportunity to pay back the nonprofits that make this a place we are proud to call home. The annual 24-hour celebration raises money and awareness for more than 1,000 area nonprofits, schools, and faith-based institutions.

Together, since 2014, we have cumulatively raised more than $29 million, with a total of 206,338 donations from around the globe benefiting Middle Tennessee organizations.

Let's come together online at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 through 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10 and support the organizations dedicated to making Middle Tennessee vibrant.

Important Dates

New Organization Deadline: March 17, 2023

Nonprofit 501c3 organizations without a GivingMatters.com profile plus schools and religious institutions that have not previously participated must initiate the registration process by this deadline.

Registration Deadline: March 31, 2023

All organizations must complete The Big Payback registration process by this deadline.

Early Giving Opens: Tuesday, May 2, 2023

Last Day to Create a Peer to Peer (P2P) Fundraising Campaign: Tuesday, May 9th at 6 p.m.

All registered nonprofit profiles will have a "Donate Now" button available when early giving opens. The P2P is an additional feature that allows each nonprofit's supporters to create a personalized fundraising campaign on their behalf. For more info, visit our step-by-step guide here.
