Brenda's Experience: I worked as a Mental Health Associate at a mental health facility for 3 years. I wrote treatment plans and daily reports. Some medical duties were perform. In 1977 to 1989 , I worked as a Disability Claims/Review Examiner for the State on the initial and review level. I analyzed claims and those that had been appealed and are entitled to reconsideration. In 1989 to 3-1-2010, I worked at Woodland Hills Youth Dev. Center with juveniles as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Case Manager 2, 3 and 4. Initially, worked as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor for 6 yrs. I was a treatment counselor (CM2 & CM3) for 2 yrs. Also, supervised the female students and worked as a classification counselor (intake). I was a counseling manager for 10 years. I reviewed and monitored all casework and the management of the department. The last 3 years, it was a shared supervision with 2 other counseling supervisors. I have been a speaker for churches (Career Day, Alcohol and Drug Workshops & Youth Retreats). I worked on different service projects with my church as a member of the missionary society such as feeding the homeless at the Rescue Mission, Room in the Inn, visiting the sick and youth outreach projects. I have performed service work with my sorority in working with a Senior Citizens' home, Women prisoners and addicts, mentally impaired individuals(Special Olympics) and homeless veterans. I have served as the President of 'New Age' Senior Ministry at my church. I, also, have been a volunteer at Robert E. Lillard Design Center for elementary children. I realize that to be effective in molding a child; it starts at an early age and is the key to reaching them to develop life-long skills that will prepare them for life's journey. I desire to be of service to the community at large in whatever capacity that I can in a professional manner. |

Chaundra's Experience: The world is filled with unbalanced families that need a helping hand for support towards the positive things they can accomplish for themselves and their families. One of our goals at Blessed Revelations is to help those women and their children take the pressure off and restore their minds with uplifting spirituality, educational goals, and finances for preparation for life long situations. I have worked as a Medical Assistant (CPR certified, CPT code certified) for 5 years at St. Thomas Hospital.I catered to individuals that suffered with chronic illnesses, mental illnesses, and heart diseases that were distressed with their situations and needed someone to be there for them to help them through their difficult time. I have been a mentor with the Youth at my church Greater Bethel and became part of many organizations such as: President of the Junior Usher Board, Vice President of the Youth People's Division, Feeding the Homeless and visiting the sick. I have also participated in community opportunities with the elderly, brotherhood and sisterhood, coordinating and being part of various fashion shows to help organizations raise funds for different causes. I have tutored children along with chaperoning for activities that was organized for the youth. My purpose is to reach out and touch as many hearts as I can and let them know that I care and I want to help them on their journey to success. |
