CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

In order to effectively serve its mission, it is of utmost importance to Nashville Ballet leaders that the organization conscientiously strives for a governing body that is reflective of the community it serves. In that aim, Nashville Ballet's board nomination process has been intentionally revised in recent years. Board selection is a considerable task, lead by the Nominating and Governance Committee. With a board size of 52, we employ every opportunity and tool we have to ensure that this board is effective and diverse in all respects: race, socioeconomic, business and trade, age, and others. In addition, Nashville Ballet continues to make diversity, equity, and inclusion work a focus for the Board by converting the former Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion task force into a standing committee and hosting an anti-racism workshop for Board members, dancers, staff members, and full-time faculty in FY21 (COVID-19 permitting).
