Mission
Producing and providing the highest quality of Christian inspirational, historic, educational, and cultured literature, merchandise, and services by continuing to use high ethical, moral, and biblically sound standards for five generations.
Background
R.H. Boyd has a longstanding tradition of producing, publishing, and distributing biblically sound and culturally relevant Christian education resources, materials, and church supplies for more than 125 years. Since its inception in 1896, R.H. Boyd has taken great pride in meeting the needs of all Christians, with a targeted focus on the needs of the African-American community. The company works with many churches, pastors, bookstores, distributors, seminaries, authors, and conference attendees that trust R.H. Boyd with their church, business, non-profit, and personal faith needs. The company is currently directed by President/CEO Dr. LaDonna Boyd, its fifth President / CEO.
Impact
Through the Endowment Fund, R.H. Boyd has impacted many students through the years. Providing increased access to educational opportunities for African American students through awards such as the The Boyd Undergraduate Scholarship and The Boyd Fellow is one of the primary aims of the Endowment. Additionally, various churches, organizations and buisinesses have been assisted in their efforts to improve their communities through The Boyd Grant. A new effort undertaken during 2021 and continuing into 2022 is restoration of The Boyd House on the campus of Fisk University. More information of this and other efforts supported by the Boyd Endowment may be found at rhboyd.com/pages/endowment.
Needs
While the Boyd Endowment Fund has helped many worthy students through the years, the rising cost of education places a strain on Endowment resources and the number of students that can be assisted. Additional funding would enable more students to be assisted with greater award amounts, helping to match the impact of inflation on educational costs.
Restoration of The Boyd House on the campus of Fisk University is a worthy undertaking that organizations such as Ingram Charities, Amazon and many individuals have helped support. Additional funding of $500,000 - $750,000 is required to complete this restoration of a Nashville area historical site.
