Mission
The ASYMCA enhances the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind and body through programs relevant to the unique challenges of military life.
Background
Military life is unique, and for junior enlisted service member and their families, it can also be challenging. The recent health pandemic and economic hardships exacerbate the struggles young military families already face. Below is why we do what we do, by the numbers:
FREQUENT MOVES: 6-9 - Number of times Military children will be transferred by the 12th grade.
ISOLATION: 43% Of military families feel isolated from their communities.
UNEMPLOYMENT: 24% Military spouses experience unemployment, 6x the rate of their civilian counterparts.
FOOD INSECURITY: 40% Of military children are on free or reduced-price lunch programs.
SEPARATION: 39% Of military families experience long-term duty-related separation.
LIMITED CHILDCARE: 7 in 10 Military parents struggle to find affordable and accessible childcare.
Impact
A strong military depends on strong military families! The Armed Services YMCA provides free or low-cost programs and services for military children, spouses, and the family unit. This is how we strengthen our military families.

Needs
At the ASYMCA of Fort Campbell, we are focused on rebounding from a hard past few years. We wish to recover and to grow in our community. We have wonderful and effective programming we will continue to offer to our military children, but additionally we want to expand our offerings as well.
Our programs, listed in our profile section are active, we need to raise a minimum of 50K annually to keep those programs low to no cost.
Our newest program, Children's Waiting Room - an hourly care program for children (ages 4months - 10yrs) who's parents have medical appointments at the on base hospital will open in the Fall. This program is also free and prevents appointment cancellations due to lack of childcare and makes wellness appointments a priority for military families. Start up
We are excited about our new and improved location for our food pantry. 40% of junior enlisted military families are dealing with food insecurity concerns. Our food pantry aims to provide nutritional options including refrigerated items for any soldier that needs it. The items in our pantry are FREE to the member, but where we need the help is in keeping the shelves full of healthy items; 20K is the goal to raise in dollars and inkind donations combined.
CEO Statement
As the Branch Executive Director at Fort Campbell ASYMCA - I approach our responsibilities with the passion that comes from a career of service and an immense appreciation for the service of the military families at Fort Campbell. As a military spouse I am able to give back to the community that has given me so much. I have raised three incredibly resilient Army kids and my passion comes from living this same life for over twenty years. I could have only prayed for these services while I was raising my children during my soldiers many deployments, change in duty stations, and trainings. I have dedicated my life as a teacher and now a director to give back to those who silently serve our great nation. Junior Enlisted Families are no stranger to the adversities and hardships juggling military life and family life and I am so happy to be a part of the bridge that connects the two. Daily we focus on our attention on being a bright spot to "our kiddos". We understand that some may not have had the chance to advance academically or socially due to financial constraints or programming availability in the community, so we focus on maintaining a program that is high-quality, high-functioning and highly inclusive. At our branch we prioritize diversity and inclusion by ensuring all classrooms include multicultural books, dolls and pictures. We want our children to be excited when they see themselves represented in the classroom and welcome their respectful curiosity.

Areas Served
Fort Campbell sits on the boarder of TN and KY and serves the largest miltary community in the SouthWestern Region of the US. Many military members of Fort Campbell reside on base and some in the Hopkinsville, KY area. However, the majority of Fort Campbell families reside in the Clarksville, TN area. Specifically, Montgomery and Robertson Counties based on census data. Also the physical location of our facility is in TN.
