Mission
Our mission is to provide immediate, temporary housing for up to 60 days ensuring a safe and supportive environment during times of need.
Background
Corrine's Place of Love is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee. As Nashville rapidly grows, the financial stability of many families is challenged, leading to an increase in homelessness. Corrine's Place of Love was founded from personal experience with homelessness, aiming to provide a refuge for single women and their children facing similar crises.
The organization offers immediate temporary housing for up to eight weeks, focusing on holistic support that includes assistance with healthcare enrollment, food stamps, and job searches by providing access to computers. Additionally, Corrine's Place of Love offers spiritual guidance, life skills education, and childcare for working mothers. By connecting families to outreach services, the organization strives to empower individuals to regain control over their lives and reduce homelessness in the community.
Impact
Corrine's Place of Love is in its formative stages, with ambitious goals to make a significant impact on the community. Our primary objective is to provide safe and supportive housing for unsheltered women, with or without children. As we grow, we aim to expand our services to include men and their children, recognizing the diverse needs of families experiencing homelessness.
In addition to housing, we are committed to offering comprehensive support services. A key future goal is to establish a daycare facility, which will enable parents to pursue employment opportunities and further their education while ensuring their children are cared for in a nurturing environment. Through these efforts, Corrine's Place of Love aspires to be a beacon of hope and stability for individuals and families striving to overcome the challenges of homelessness.
Needs
As Nashville grows, challenges in housing affordability have increased homelessness, particularly among single women and families. Corrine's Place of Love, a new 501(c)(3) non-profit in Davidson County, aims to address this by providing temporary housing and support services.
Identified Needs:
Immediate Temporary Housing: There's a critical shortage of safe, temporary housing for single women and children. We aim to offer respite housing for up to eight weeks, providing stability for those rebuilding their lives.
Expansion of Services: Initially focused on women and children, we plan to extend services to include men and their children, ensuring all families have access to necessary support.
Childcare Facilities: Affordable childcare is crucial for parents seeking employment or education. We aim to establish a daycare facility to support these efforts.
Comprehensive Support Services: Beyond housing, we offer assistance with healthcare enrollment, food security, job searches, life skills education, and spiritual guidance for long-term stability.
Community Outreach and Partnerships: Building strong connections with local outreach services and community organizations is vital for maximizing our impact.
CEO Statement
Statement from the CEO/Executive Director, Michelle Griffin
At Corrine's Place of Love, we are driven by compassion and a steadfast determination to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. Our mission is unique because we offer an immediate, temporary housing program that spans eight weeks, providing a crucial lifeline to women and their children when they need it most.
Unlike many other shelters that have long waiting lists and operate as transitional living spaces, Corrine's Place of Love is committed to eliminating barriers and offering prompt assistance. We understand the urgency of finding a safe place to stay during times of crisis, and our program is designed to provide that immediate relief without the burden of fees.
Our vision extends beyond just housing. We are dedicated to creating a supportive environment where individuals can begin rebuilding their lives. Once fully operational, we will include daycare services within our program, empowering parents to seek employment and educational opportunities while knowing their children are cared for in a nurturing setting.
This initiative stems from my personal journey and understanding of the challenges faced by those who find themselves without a home. At Corrine's Place of Love, we are more than just a shelter; we are a community committed to offering hope, dignity, and the tools necessary for individuals to regain stability and independence.
Together, with the support of our community and partners, we can transform lives and create lasting change. Thank you for believing in our mission and joining us on this journey of compassion and empowerment.

As we embark on the journey of establishing Corrine's Place of Love, we are filled with a profound sense of purpose and commitment to addressing the urgent needs of our community. Our organization is dedicated to providing immediate, temporary housing for women and their children who are experiencing homelessness, offering them a safe haven during times of crisis. This mission is more critical than ever as Nashville continues to grow and evolve, bringing with it both opportunities and challenges for its residents.
While we are in the early stages of bringing Corrine's Place of Love to fruition, we recognize the significant challenges that lie ahead. Chief among these is securing the necessary funding to support our operations and compensate our dedicated staff. As a newly established non-profit, we are actively seeking partnerships, grants, and donations that will enable us to fulfill our mission and make a tangible impact in the lives of those we serve.
Our program is distinct in its approach, offering an immediate response to homelessness without the barriers often encountered with long waiting lists or transitional living arrangements. We believe that providing prompt assistance is essential for individuals facing homelessness, as it allows them to focus on rebuilding their lives without the added stress of uncertainty about their living situation.
In addition to housing, we are committed to offering comprehensive support services that address the holistic needs of our residents. This includes access to healthcare enrollment, food security programs, job search assistance, and life skills education. We are also planning to incorporate daycare services into our offerings, recognizing the critical role that childcare plays in enabling parents to pursue employment and educational opportunities.
Our vision for Corrine's Place of Love is not just about providing shelter; it is about creating a community where individuals can find hope, dignity, and the resources they need to achieve long-term stability and independence. This vision is deeply rooted in personal experience and a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by those who find themselves without a home.
