Description
Created in January 2004, our program was designed to teach young girls and women who primarily attended Metro Nashville public schools, ages four (4) to seventeen (17), the importance of becoming a positive force in society. Our primary mission and purpose is to teach etiquette, academics, self worth and esteem, character building and other activities involving basic social and life skills. Our eight-week program is supervised by Metro school teachers, college students and other qualified educators. AAOC's camp site is located at 2620 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN 37208. The program is open daily, Monday through Friday, from 6:30am to 5:30pm. Campers receive a nutritious breakfast, lunch and evening snack. Since our program's inception, our curriculum has expanded significantly to provide digital media etiquette, mental health workshops, yoga sessions and much more.

Description
Due to an increase in demand, we launched a before and after school care program where we teach the importance of etiquette and education. Our primary mission is to improve the school grades of our students who range from ages 4 to 15 years old. We achieve this through daily homework help, providing tutoring services in various subjects, test preparation and etiquette education. We have been fortunate to serve Pre-K through 8th graders who attend Alex Green Elementary, Jones Paideia, Hull Jackson and other North Nashville schools. According to our research, every child that has participated for at least a year in The E Program has graduated high school, and annually, over fifty percent 50% of our participants will show progress in academic achievement by a 40% increase in one or more subject areas (Math, Science and Language Arts/Reading) as measured by report card grades.

Founded in 2008, Men of Honour Boys Summer Camp (MOH) is our summer program for young males which also provides the same activities that we teach our young ladies. At MOH, young males ages four (4) to seventeen (17) learn manners, team building, music education, character building and basic survival skills. Our purpose is to build integrity, health and character through mentoring, athletics, academic enrichment activities and more. We will continue equipping our young males with the tools they need to become the next generation of leaders.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

For over thirteen (13) years we have worked with Nashville inner city youth and I have observed while working with our children that it appears more of them are being diagnosed with mental health and behavioral disorders. In order to equip our parents/guardians and students with the tools they need for success, we continue to partner with programs including Health Connect America, TN Voices for Children, Mental Health Co-op and Regional Intervention Program . These agencies have assisted our staff and parents by providing trainings, workshops and other services which have helped many of our families to overcome internal obstacles.
