Mission
Tennessee Women in Green (TWIG) empowers, inspires, and connects women who are committed to environmental sustainability.
Background
Tennessee Women in Green was founded on May 2, 2008 by Tiffany Wilmot and Laurel Creech.
Impact
In 2018, Tennessee Women in Green accomplished the following: Implemented quarterly service projects in order to support sustainability efforts in Middle Tennessee and engage our members in hands-on sustainable practices.Hosted events to connect women committed to environmental sustainability.Participated in September's Dragon Boat Races to support the Cumberland River Compact and bring attention to the Cumberland River (and took 11th place!).Celebrated our 10th anniversary! We're proud of what we have been able to do and we could not have done it without you! In 2019 we plan to: Host speakers from Tennessee, the southeast region, and from across the nation.Provide sponsorships for members, allowing them to attend regional and national events focused on environmental sustainability.Continue our engagement in the community through involvement in local initiatives and opportunities. Needs
Our top needs are to finance the monthly meeting room space, our website, our membership management software, costs to bring national speakers in, and sponsoring members to attend events.
