Rita's Experience: Rita has had 12 years of formal arts education. She is a painter working in acrylics and loves all things handcrafted. She is a past president of the McDowell Arts Council Association (Marion, NC), served as Chairman for the Appalachian Potters Market (the largest 1 day market in NC) and served on the steering committee for the Macon County (TN) Arts Council. She is a member of the Macon County Arts Council, the Upper Cumberland Arts Council, the Allen County (KY) League of Artists and Crafters and Tennesseans for the Arts. Rita serves on the city planning commission and the board of Upper Cumberland Tourism as Chair.Rita owns 'Grandpa's House' a traditional handcraft shop housed in her grandfather's 100 year old farm house.

We are an all volunteer organization made up of people from a diverse background that have a love for our community. We would love to be able to hire full time and part time staff. At this time, all funds that we raise are used for programing and events.
