Organization Details
The Arts & Business Council is a 501(c)(3) organization that leverages and unites the unique resources of the arts and business communities to create a thriving, sustainable creative culture in Nashville.

Investing in artists is central to the Arts & Business Council's longterm vision of a community where artists are valued as critical assets to be engaged, supported, and empowered. The Arts & Business Council believes a strong sector of creatives and creative businesses will enhance the overall economic profile of the Greater Nashville area. We believe a thriving arts community:
1) attracts businesses to Nashville;
2) makes for a healthy, happy population; and
3) creates strong, innovative solutions to social, business and civic challenges.

To deliver this mission, the Arts & Business Council creates and evaluates programming within three focus areas:
1) We create mutually beneficial partnerships between arts and business;
2) We provide direct services, key opportunities, education to the creative community to help them master the business of art;
3) We inspire workplace creativity in businesses to demonstrate the impact of the arts through tangible benefits and develop life-long arts participants and supporters.

In addition to funding, how can someone support your organization?
The Arts & Business Council relies on the generous support of individuals, corporations, and foundations to support our work to build a thriving, sustainable creative culture in Nashville.

Financial Support:
Supporters can make a fully tax-deductible donation, and/or choose to support The Arts & Business Council with an annual membership. Membership begins at $20 and is tiered into different levels for individuals as well as for nonprofit organizations and corporations. Donations can be made and memberships can be purchased on our website. Payment information can also be taken over the phone or by mail.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for our many events and programs, including our annual fundraiser Arts Immersion. Companies or individuals interested in this additional level of support and marketing through sponsorship can contact the Arts & Business Council's Director of Development, CK Stone, to learn more.

Volunteer Support:
Skilled volunteers, particularly those with expertise in law, finance, marketing, public relations, human resources, and information technology, may sign up for Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts, which matches volunteers with income-qualified artists and emerging nonprofit arts organizations of all creative disciplines in order to provide free legal and business assistance for particular arts-related issues. Professional volunteers may also have the opportunity to lead one of our monthly Education programs or to teach a section of our Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training.

Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training also engages skilled volunteers as business mentors. Periscope is a nine-week intensive training opportunity that empowers working artists to see their vision through an entrepreneurial lens and gives artists the perspective and tools to sustain their creative careers. Once training is complete ABC matches Periscope artists one-on-one with business mentors to continue expanding on the concepts learned through the program.

Lastly, the Arts & Business Council brings together business professionals and arts organizations in need of adept board members through our Arts Board Matching program. Arts Board Matching consists of a four-session training program that prepares individuals to serve as effective members of arts nonprofit boards, and then matches these volunteers with our local arts nonprofit partners in need of new board members. Arts Board Matching promotes dynamic nonprofit board leadership and strengthens the infrastructure of our arts community.
