CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Home Bound Meals Program is an all volunteer organization using at least 13 persons (5 servers and 11 deliverers) 2hours each day, 5 days a week 52 weeks a year to distribute meals to needy and disabled persons. Volunteers are recruited through churches, civic clubs and by word of mouth (including newspapers). During 2022, HBMP had an average of 130 volunteers each month to deliver an average of 140 meals each day. Most of our clients live alone. The visit from the volunteer is the only personnel interaction they will have during the day. Our mission is to serve the elderly and those in need by using the meal as a key to opening the door toward a friendship that will benefit the client as well as the extended family. In caring out this mission we hope that it allows the client to stay in their home longer with some dignity where they want to be.
