Executive Director Mrs. Mariela Moscoso
E-mail director@yeahrocks.org
Term Start October 2021
Mariela's Experience: Mariela brings a rich background in arts, humanities, and non-profit management, cultivated through a lifetime of experiences. From her upbringing in Puerto Rico to her college years in Washington, DC and Italy, and teaching English in Japan to sharing the transformative power of art in New York City, Mariela's journey has underscored the profound impact of the arts on self-awareness, understanding, and appreciation for others.

Fluent in Spanish and deeply committed to fostering youth voices, Mariela has consistently advocated for arts education and engaged in advocacy for diverse communities. As an art teacher at both public and private schools in Brooklyn and Queens, New York, Mariela developed curricula focusing on visual art as a powerful tool for comprehensive education and communication skills. While Director of Grants at HOLA in Evansville, IN, she supported the enhancement of cultural diversity and success of Latinos across various sectors, from education to health, safety, workforce, economic strength, and leadership.

In her most recent role as Director of Grants at Monroe Harding, Mariela dedicated herself to providing foster care and vulnerable youth with essential resources, programming, and funding, creating a safe community and guiding them towards success in adulthood.

With Mariela now at the helm as Executive Director of YEAH!, she is working towards creating more accessibility to the transformative power of art to support young people, foster artistic expression, increase communication and strengthen community.

Mariela envisions building a diverse team of staff, instructors, board members, community partners, program participants, and supporters. Together, YEAH! will integrate the Nashville community through progressive arts and music programming in a space where creativity, leadership and collaboration thrive.
