Clemmie's Experience: Clemmie Greenlee (or 'Ms. Clemmie') is a native of Nashville, and one of the country's leading advocates for families of murdered victims and survivors of the sex trade. Raised amidst poverty and violence, Ms. Clemmie experienced the horrors of the human sex trafficking when she was abducted, tortured, and raped as a pre-teenage adolescent. These experiences led her down a long path of drug addiction, homelessness, prostitution, and incarceration.After spending more than 25 years buried in addiction and prostitution, and experiencing more than 100 arrests and stints in jail, Ms. Clemmie's life changed when the Magdalene House of Nashville (also called Magdalene House and Thistle Farms) rescued her from the streets. Founded by Rev. Becca Stevens, Magdalene is a residential program that provides rehabilitative and counseling services for women from drug addiction and the sex trade. The year-long program gave Ms. Clemmie the opportunity to reflect on her early childhood traumas of abuse and violence, and to rediscover the importance of faith in re-birthing communities and people in despair.In 2003, Ms. Clemmie's life took another tragic turn when her son, Rodriguez, was killed in a gang-related shooting in Nashville. Although unable to save her son, she made it her life mission to help other youth and young adults who are susceptible to gangs and gun violence. Shortly after Rodriguez's murder, she established the Galaxy Star Drug Awareness organization (now called the Nashville Peacemakers). A few years later she became a lead organizer for the Homeless Power Project. She has also volunteered wit the Center for Community Change, Nashville's NAACP, Jobs with Justice, and the Urban Epi-Center.

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who believe in promoting peace with unconditional love. And not just in words, thoughts and prayers, but in action as well. As you might already know, our volunteers work with small groups of at-risk youth, providing life-skills and guidance, supporting each of them as they grow into future leaders, not future failure statistics. Recently, we attended an event for Nashville's non-profits where we learned that there simply aren't enough programs for at-risk youth (especially boys) BEFORE they get into trouble. We - you and us - are changing that!WE believe that every child has a potential for greatness, all they need from us adults is guidance, support, love and respect that comes without any preconceived judgement.Every year, we run programs: Straight Talk for boys, Back to Basics for girls, Off the Street Make a Beat for those with interest in music and Moms Over Murder to support moms who lost their children to violence. Now that you are a part of Nashville Peacemakers, we want to give YOU opportunities to make a difference in these kids' lives.
