| John's Experience: John D. Garnett, Retired was a Child Care Business Services Coordinator for the Tennessee Department of Human Services. John assisted child care owners and operators in the start-up, expansion, and the organizational improvement of a child care facility. He was formally the Executive Director of the Tennessee Child Care Facilities Corporation with the responsibility of administering loan guarantees, direct loans, and corporate/community partnership grants. John developed state-wide professional development programs for contractors, elementary and high school student youth entrepreneurship, and with early childhood educators. He coordinated efforts to develop an emergency preparedness plan and initiative for child care facilities across the state. Participant's on advisory committees. He has been a presenter in local, state, and national seminars, workshops, and conferences. John is married with three sons, and eight grand children. | |
