Paul's Experience: Paul C. Stumb IV was born in Nashville and attended the Ensworth School and Montgomery Bell Academy before matriculating to Auburn University in 1978. After earning a baccalaureate degree in engineering with high honors, he accepted employment at the nuclear weapons complex in Oak Ridge, Tenn. and enrolled in graduate school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After earning master and doctoral degrees in engineering, Dr. Stumb moved to Atlanta, where he served as regional vice president for a national printing company and then started his own sales and marketing company in the wholesale gift and home decor market. Dr. Stumb also taught as an adjunct faculty member at Georgia State University and Shorter College. In 2002, he returned to middle Tennessee to run Lebanon-based American Corrugated and taught as an adjunct at Middle Tennessee State University and Cumberland University. In 2005, Dr. Stumb accepted the post of Dean of the Labry School of Business & Technology at CU. In addition to his professional career, Dr. Stumb has recently retired after completing more than 25 years of military service with the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves as a Cryptology Officer. He has also devoted many hours to non-profit and philanthropic organizations. He has and/or is currently serving on the boards of Junior Achievement, the National Kidney Foundation, Prospect Inc., the Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Wilson, Leadership Middle Tennessee, United Way, Mid-Cumberland Area Development Corp, The Ronald McDonald House, the United Methodist Church, and the Lebanon Rotary Club. Additionally, he is currently serving as Assistant Governor for Rotary District 6780) and as a senior fellow for the Beacon Center. |
