Description
Our Pet Adoption Center is located in Lebanon, TN and was built in 1978 and has provided a valuable service to the community by accepting owner surrendered dogs and cats to be re-homed to other families. We average around 700 adoptions annually. In 2009 this program made the significant step of becoming a no-kill facility. Careful planning was required to make this transition. We researched and utilized best practices to successfully reach and maintain our goal - a 95% adoption rate.

The JOY Clinic is our new brick and mortar spay/neuter clinic made possible by Joy Bishop. Before opening The JOY Clinic, we provided spay/neuter services through the Spay Station, a 33 foot mobile veterinary clinic . We began operation in April of 2000. Since then we have performed over 41,500 spay / neuter surgeries for low income pet owners who could not otherwise afford it. Our goal is to perform 5,000 surgeries yearly in The JOY Clinic assisting pet owners of Wilson Co and surrounding counties.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Funding for our Adoption Center is an ongoing challenge. The budget to run the shelter program depends on fundraisers and private donations. The animals adoption fees cover less than 20% of the budget for the lifesaving program.
