Description
Through Chrysalis's oral care education program, the organization will provide general oral care education, tobacco cessation education, and nutritional counseling. These education segments will touch upon the major daily contributors to poor dental care, and deliver the basic foundation needed for individuals to integrate positive dental care practices into their lives. Chrysalis's general oral care education will provide skill training and education on how to properly care for one's mouth and teeth (as well as their children's teeth) and its benefits to one's health. Oral care tools will be available to aid implementation. Education on the detrimental effects of tobacco on one's oral health will also be disseminated and follow up resources and guidance will be provided to smokers interested in quitting smoking. General nutritional counseling will advise individuals on their eating habits and educate them on the diet changes that can improve their oral and overall health.

Description
We continue to establish partnerships with other local non-profits to provide dental care to their clients in need. We plan to add a remote option to this program that will allow our staff to physically screen these clients through tele-dentistry at the partnering non-profit location to eliminate the need for additional visits to our office for the patient.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

The above listed programs are our first 3 models of care for the underserved patients in and around Nashville. Our Pilot Programs were a huge success. We are now looking to expand our partnerships to be able to form alliances to bring dental health options to those in the communities were access has been minimal.
