Description
Personal contact and encouragement with class. Most o our clients live alone and have little if any personal contact with anyone else during the day. The delivery of a nutritious meal is used as the key to developing a friendship with the client. Over time the client may express some concerns they have regarding health or the environment they live in. This gives program the opportunity to act as a bridge between the client and the extended family by conveying the concerns along to them for follow-up.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Food is prepared by a local vendor and delivers the food in bulk to the Home Bound Meals Program distribution point. The food is placed in individual meal containers, sealed and then put in appropriate carrying containers for delivery to the homes of the recipients. HBMP is the only meals on wheels program in Hendersonville, TN. We strive to provide a hot nutritious meal to all the clients 5 days a week 52 weeks a year. Most of our recipients live alone. The delivery of the meal each say is used to unlock the door toward developing a meaningful friendship with the client. By working to develop those friendships with each of the clients we can also be a bridge between the client and immediate family if any concerns arise that they should be made aware of. Our goal is to provide hot healthy meals to all that qualify and allow them the dignity of staying in their home as long as possible. The need for the program in this area is tremendous. The number of clients we can serve is increasing. Providing service to potential new clients is only limited by the funding available and the volunteers on hand.
