CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Our overall goal is to increase participation and supervision of our programs. Our emphasis will be on collaboration with the various churches and other community organizations. One of our challenges is not having a program director to coordinate these activities. Our goals for the coming year include - improving our basketball programs. Identifying young people to volunteer to run our summer basketball program. Running programs in spring and fall to utilize the gymnasium, to reduce utility costs. Also encouraging the children that reside in our apartments to participate in our programs. Review our Arts program. Improve our nutrition program by collaborating with churches and other groups. Encourage our tenants in our apartments to participate in THDA homebuyer education program online . Our tutoring program could be improved by having more parent involvement. Parent groups - plan is to start a parent group. Also, distributing flyers to our residents in our apartments. Distributing flyers in the housing projects not having a program director limits our program activity. We are considering developing a lot that we own in collaboration with a local bank into a baseball field to encourage kids to learn to play baseball. We are now sharing the job of program director between our board members and administrative staff. We participate with the local American Legion organizations in honoring Veterans.
POST-PANDEMIC, WE HAVE RESUMED ACTIVITIES AND PROCEEDING AS SAFELY AS POSSIBLE.
