Education programs equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance the quality of life of the individual with Alzheimer's disease. Learners can include persons with Alzheimer's disease, family members, paraprofessional and professional caregivers, service and care providers in acute, long-term and home and community-based programs. Education programs can be delivered through: conferences and workshops for caregivers, in-service training for professionals, and newsletters.

| The Alzheimer's Association offers several other services and programs in addition to the six core services listed in the Programs section. Other services include our Family Relief Fund which provides respite reimbursement for low-income caregivers that need some relief from the daily demands of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease. The caregiver can choose their own relief provider. The provider might be an adult day care center, a homemaker or sitter that visits the home, or a home health professional. Other services include our public awareness program and Maintain Your Brain educational program, Foundations of Dementia Care training for assisted living and nursing home staffs and law enforcement training. The Mid South Chapter participates in the newly developed Core Services Quality Evaluation Initiative (CSQEI). CSQEI is an Association quality assurance program that generates direct feedback from clients and allows for Chapter performance comparison against similar Chapters across the United States. This program utilizes custom designed survey instruments that are uniform across the Association. Surveys are submitted to clients on a schedule that allows for statistically relevant return rates that will yield meaningful information to the Chapter and the Association. Feedback is utilized to improve and enhance the programs and services delivered by the Association. |
