Taking the first step into nature. Foot to Soil is a program that will take low income, single parent families out for a 1 night camp adventure.
Trails Please provides backpacks, tent and sleeping bags to the participants, which they will keep and hopefully use on their own trips.
The program also creates a bond between the parent and child in a way that is impossible in the very day grind and stresses.

Description
The Nature Bound program focuses on the power of nature and senior citizens. Taking out 5 seniors along with their son/daughter, the program has a therapy aspect, along with music and education. Whether the senior is coming out of Hospice, nursing care or assisted living, they will be a part of natures powers.
Study after study talks about the health benefits of the outdoors for the participant. From vitamin D with the sunshine, learning to breathe, observing the surroundings and spending time with a loved one. This followed by a portrait photo taken and framed for both members.

Elderly and/or Disabled
Long-term Success
Success will happen when the health aspect of the trip is taken more serious. We need to get this generation outside and away from fluorescent lighting.
The hope is that they can keep visiting a park and enjoying new adventures.
Short-term Success
Success can look like healthier seniors and an appreciation for the outdoors in terms of therapy
