Description
The Center for Imagination (CFI) is designed to expose our youth to the world around us, assist in academic development, cultural self awareness, and aid in developing social and emotional learning skills to manage emotions, resolve conflicts, and make responsible decisions. CFI meets Monday through Thursday working with Pre-K through 12th grade students. CFI strives to go beyond the classroom routine to offer students various avenues to enhance their academic skills, their world view, and personal development through hands-on activities, learning games, one-on-one tutoring, field trips, special projects, and use of computer technology. CFI provides a snack, hot meal, and transportation. The program is staffed with a program director, work study students, and volunteers.

| The Center for Imagination(CFI) has seen tremendous growth since 2008. CFI has served over 800 students since the inception of the program. CFI is an anchor partner for the Nashville After Zone Alliance(NAZA) program for the fifth year in the North West Nashville Bordueax area. Being an anchor partner for NAZA has given CFI opportunities to provide creative and innovative programs for the youth in the community. It also created opportunities to expand our outreach efforts and has presented challenges for continued adequate program funding, increase staff support, the need for more materials and resource tools to work with students, transportation needs to provide the services needed to help effect change and improvements.Our program staff members make every effort to reach out in the community for volunteers, professional assistance, and collaborative efforts to meet the needs of our families. |
