| Jeffrey's Experience: Nashville Youth for Christ was excited when Jeff Shicks, (former Campus Life Director for 8 years), was promoted in May 2017 to the full time Executive Director position of our Nashville chapter. Jeff's love of, commitment to, and past experience in ministry and non-profits has been an asset to the communities we serve. He has over 35 years of experience mentoring students. Jeff first served as a police officer and a juvenile probation officer for 9 years in Westerville, Ohio. He started several programs in public schools and detention centers that were geared towards helping youth engage in positive choices and healthy relationships. During that time Jeff was also the youth pastor at Sunbury Christian Church in Ohio for 12 years. Jeff spent the next 14 years in Florida as the Executive Director and founder of The Bridge Youth Center. The Bridge Youth Center impacted more than 6,500 students under the leadership of Jeff; many of those students coming from broken homes, gangs and violent crimes, teen pregnancies and addictions. He developed and served on a local youth leader network called "Union Station" that equipped numerous local youth leaders in the Southwest Florida area. He also served as the President of ALS (Alternate Learning School) Charter Schools Board in Fort Myers, Florida in 2008 and 2009. Jeff has served as the part-time senior high pastor at Lakeshore Christian Church in Antioch, TN. Prior to being appointed as Executive Director, Jeff was the Campus Life Director for Nashville YFC. | |
