Ateia's Experience: Ateia brings more than 14 years of experience in education and the nonprofit sector. Her background includes working with nonprofits from formation to fundraising, coordinating education services, teaching culturally and linguistically diverse K-12 learners, and leading professional development for educators. As a lifelong Tennessean and former educator, Ateia is excited to support Hotline's mission of helping Tennessee students in grades K-12 learn and complete challenging assignments as they master new concepts. "This work is incredibly personal to me. I experienced Homework Hotline as a student and as a classroom teacher. The services that Hotline offers to Tennessee families are exactly what's needed to ensure all students across our state can comprehend complex tasks and approach instruction confident in their understanding." Prior to joining Hotline, Ateia worked with the Tennessee Bar Association (TBA), overseeing programs and operations of the TBA's largest section - the Young Lawyers Division- with more than 4,500 young attorneys and nearly 1,800 law student members. Her past experience also includes five years of teaching experience in both Metro Nashville Public Schools and Sumner County School. She also spent five years supporting US-based and international nonprofit organizations looking to obtain 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Belmont University, she earned her Master of Education degree at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College of Education and Human Development. |
