Lytle's Experience: Lytle Thomas, Founder and President Nashville Inner City Ministry. A mechanic by trade, Lytle served his home congregation as a volunteer Youth Minister. When this ministry became successful, he realized that he should enter ministry full time. In 1979, with the support of a group of vision-minded church elders, the assistance of wife Sandra, and very well trained teenagers, the ministry that became Nashville Inner City Ministry was launched. Together, Lytle and Sandra Thomas, have raised 15 foster children and now enjoy a host of grandchildren.

Larry's Experience: Larry Cantrell, Executive Director, graduated from Goodlettsville High School and holds a B.S. from the University of Alabama. At both schools he was an All American track athlete and still holds the Tennessee State record in the 400 meter sprint. He married his college sweetheart Cauline and they have two boys. In 1991 he received an M.A. in Religion from David Lipscomb University. And, in 2014 Larry was inducted into the Metro Nashville Public School Hall of Fame.

NICM is continually challenged to assist inner city residents improve their lives through education and career training. Our vocational, academic and stipend programs strive to collaborate with parents, students, and schools so that students become successful students. It is our hope to expand our services in the future with 24 hour services for those in need of spiritual, emotional, or physical assistance. We have over 38 years of established relationships with inner city families, but their needs remain high. We invite others to join us!
