Lyn's Experience: Lyn Noland is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor and the Executive Director of Recovery Community Inc., a non-profit recovery program in Nashville, Tennessee. She also is a member of the Davidson County Division X Recovery Court Treatment Team, a member of the National and Tennessee Association of Drug Court Professionals, the National and Tennessee Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, and has served as a spokesperson for Governor Phil Bredesen's Meth Free Tennessee Initiative. Lyn opened Recovery Community in 2007. She and her staff take a special interest in their clients, providing Housing, Intensive Case Management, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, Relapse Prevention and Wrap Around Services to make sure all of their needs are met. She makes sure that Recovery Community is a comprehensive place of healing for the whole person. Her Organization assists clients from Recovery Courts throughout the state of Tennessee. They collaborate with service agencies in their community to ensure their clients can become productive members of society. Recovery Community believes that helping others is the best way to build self-worth. They volunteer with Madison clean up days, Taste of Madison, Amqui Station Visitors Center, playground builds, and other community projects throughout the year. Lyn has shared her personal story of recovery across the nation to Drug Courts, Law Enforcement Groups and Community Organizations, but says her favorite place to speak is in the jails and prisons, where one person may hear the hope they need to stay clean. She has been featured in the Tennessean, Vanderbilt Medical Magazine, and in President George Bush's Final Report from the White House to The Armies of Compassion. She received the Leadership Award from the Madison Chamber of Commerce for 2010, Chamber Member of the Year for 2013, Madison Beautification Award 2017 and 2018. |
