CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

MCHRA's board is prescribed in the by-laws. Members are appointed by virtue of position. County Mayors or Executives from the 12 counties served compose the Executive Committee. The Policy Council is composed of the County Mayors/Executives and 12 consumer and 12 agency representatives appointed by the County Mayors. The General Governing Board is composed of those listed above, plus mayors from the cities within the region and one state senator and representative. The executive council meets quarterly. MCHRA is pleased to have an expansive volunteer pool of 1576 individuals in 13 counties. The majority of those volunteers help to package and deliver Meals-on-Wheels. The remainder are Ombudsman volunteers who visit long-term care facilities and advocate for the elderly residents.
