Mission

100% of our ticket sales goes to our charities that we support for our Veterans and those with Alzheimer's and Dementia. This NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION will present a caring network of musicians and performers using traditional country music to raise community awareness and support with concerning values of music used for veterans with symptoms of PTSD, Dementia, Autism, Alzheimer's, and Alcohol and Drug Recovery.

Background

In 2014, I decided to retire from a long working career as an Iron Worker. While looking back at all I have received over the years I found I had been truly blessed in life, I knew I wanted to spend my retirement years giving back for all that I had received in life. Being a musician all my life and a recording artist in Nashville sense 2002 while still living in Wisconsin, I finally retired on October 31st of 2014. In February of 2015 my wife and I sold our home in Wisconsin and moved to the Nashville Tennessee area. Along with a friend living in Nashville we started a music show called the Music City Hayride, in May of 2015. We started doing a Traditional Country Music show held on Friday nights at the Texas Troubadour Theater here in Nashville, TN. The show was started to promote traditional country music and the music that made Nashville the Major music hub it is today. After a few months I wanted to do more good with our music show than promote Traditional country music. My friend was no longer interested in doing this so he turned the Music City Hayride show over to me and stepped aside. I wanted to help support our Veterans as well as our seniors suffering with Dementia and Alzheimer's. In January, I put together a board of directors and we filed for a 501c3 non profit status. On March 22nd of 2016 we were granted our non profit as the Music City Hayride Inc. We started doing shows with a great number of independent artist's and past major artist's such as Lulu Roman, Buddy Jewell and Ken Mellons and the list goes on. At the end of the year the Music City Hayride presented a check to Operation Stand Down TN, The Honor & Valor Foundation (for our Veterans and the services they offer them), and to Music & Memory to help them working with people suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer's. We did these shows through 2016 as well as 2017. For 2018, we are trying to raise a lot more funding so we can do many more shows to raise more for our charities. We would also like to bring this show to Television in our local area. We will be giving all profits from the ticket sales to our shows to our charities this next year. We hope you can be a part of our winning team to help support our veterans and seniors.Dean HolmenCEO Music City HayridePO Box 19Madison Tn. 37116615 838-4171www.musiccityhayride.netdean.musiccity@gmail.com

Impact

As our reputation of the Music City Hayride show has grown, more and more music artist's have joined us to try an support our charities. We have now done thirty shows to date, artist's such as: Lulu Roman Hee Haw), Bobby G. Rice, Margie Singleton Walton, Diane McCall, Bobby Lewis, Randall Franks (In the Heat of the Night star), Highway 101, and Buddy Jewell just to name a few. Performing on the show are individual artist that believe in our quest to help others. Our home theater for our shows is the Texas Troubadour Theater on Music Valley Drive in Nashville home of the Midnight Jambouree for 70 years. The Music City Hayride has a season of shows from April through November each year. With our first show this season April 13th 2018. During our off season Our CEO has been in touch with our charities learning more of what their needs are for each year. The other time is spent trying to raise awareness of these charities to the general public. We also bring a few artist's to fund raisers to raise funds for them as well, such as the Alzheimer's fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Foundation. Some of our artist's have been doing radio shows to help get the word out about our shows and charities as well. Our local community is a big part of our success too. We count on their support to keep our shows well attended as much as we count on tourism. In September of 2017 our show's C.E.O. Dean Holmen, was awarded the Humanitarian Award from the Josie Music Awards Show. The Josie Music Awards Show is the largest Award show in the world to date for Indie artist. This past year the award show was held at Nissan Stadium here in Nashville, TN. It was with great pleasure to the Music City Hayride to also be able to give checks to our Charities that we support for the past two years.

Needs

We have also been fortunate to have a great number of artist's donate their time to help our show raise funds for our charities too. We had to cut back our shows from every week back in 2016 to once a month and even less in 2017. Our most pressing needs to keep a sustainable future for the Music City Hayride would be funding our weekly shows again. We also need public service announcements to advertise our shows. Here is a list of our weekly expenses we are looking for.Sound man- $100.00Print programs- $100.00Video taping hows- $1,200.00Band wage- $630.00Theater Rent- $500.00Closing Act- $500.00Other logistics- $100.00Office rent- $75.00Total one week operation- $3,205.00A total season budget would run $102,560.00The Music City Hayride could also use volunteers in Marketing and general help at our shows too. This is to lessen the burden on our all volunteer staff we have now.
