Mission
Our mission is to invite college women into Christ-centered community that fosters vulnerability and transforms stories.
Background
The primary purpose of Delight Ministries (Delight) is to launch, grow, and sustain Christ-centered women's communities on college campuses across the country in order to foster vulnerability and transform stories. We work with passionate college women who yearn for deeper community on their campuses by providing them with the training, tools, resources, and encouragement needed to start and lead a Delight chapter. Once established, our chapters create rich and meaningful communities on college campuses that make disciples of Jesus Christ. MacKenzie Wilson and Mackenzie Baker began this ministry in September of 2012 at Belmont University as sophomores. What started as a desire to disciple a small group of women turned into a thriving communities across the country. Since the co-founders graduated college in 2015 and received 501(c)(3) organization status, Delight has expanded to 200+ chapters across the nation with over 15,000 participants.
Impact
Delight is dedicated to providing college women with Christ-centered communities on their campuses as well as leadership development opportunities. In the last few years, Delight has: Grown to 200 chapters across the country. Trained approximately 1,400 women every semester with valuable leadership skills to lead their chapters. Provided approximately 15,000 women with Christ-centered community through Delight chapters. We launch a Delight Stories + Scripture study every fall and a book of the Bible study every spring. Delight reaches 40,000+ women on social media every year. Hired the organization's first Executive Director and added additional staff to support ongoing rapid growth. In the next several years, Delight has a goal to be on every four-year university. Our dream is for every woman on every campus to have the option to join a Delight.
Needs
Delight is looking to grow our monthly partner program NEXGEN. NEXGEN was created for donors to partner with Delight every month to support what God is doing across the country. It focuses on the sustainability of the ministry while focusing on how Delight can impact the next generation. Delight would love prayers over our organization and the young women we serve.
CEO Statement
Delight's vision is to unite and empower millennial women to seek the Lord joyfully and relentlessly, impact their college campuses, and change the culture as a whole. We want women on every college campus to receive an invitation to join together with others who love Jesus. The heart of our mission is to provide an environment for women to vulnerably share about how Christ is at work in their lives. We've heard stories of depression, loneliness, heartbreak, identity crisis, and pain, but the common theme throughout them all is that even still - God is good! These stories open the door for authentic conversations and deep-rooted relationships within our communities. We truly believe in the power of vulnerability and how it impacts our relationship with Christ and others around us. Delight is more than just a weekly Bible study. While each community meets weekly to share stories of God at work, they also incorporate worship nights, opportunities to serve, and fun get-togethers that help foster relationships throughout each semester. We fully believe in doing life together. Delight provides the opportunity for thousands of women to delight in the Lord together throughout their college journeys. Board Chair Statement
As a campus minister, I hear stories every day from young women who are looking for a place to belong, for ways to discern their calling and for a community that points them to Jesus. I believe in Delight Ministries because I have seen, firsthand, the impact this ministry has on college women. Areas Served
Delight chapters are communities on college campuses all across the country that invite women to take part in Christ-centered conversations and relationships. Each chapter is run by student leaders who are passionate about Jesus and creating community on their campus. Delight is currently present on about 200 college campuses throughout the country. A list of the colleges and universities with a Delight chapter can be found on the Delight Ministries website.
