Mission

To provide resources for all victims/survivors of domestic violence, while encouraging hope and healing through the foundation of God's love.

Background

For the past 9 years we have been providing emotional and spiritual guidance for all victims/survivors of domestic violence all over the world through our online platform. For the past 5 years we have been blessed to be able to provide resources to victims/survivors in the Nashville/Middle Tennessee area with our 'Flight Bag' campaign. As you may know, the lethality of a domestic violence relationship vastly increases when a victim is trying to escape. With our ' Flight Bag' campaign, we are able to provide emergency financial assistance, an escape bag for victims and their children who need to leave their situation immediately, as well as counseling sessions and supportive services. Unfortunately, this sometimes requires victims to leave their home with nothing, and many do not have the resources to all allow them to safely escape. Our flight bags include hygiene items, food and gas gift cards, prepaid cell phones, a safety plan, and other items necessary for safety within a 24-48 hour period to aid in their escape. These bags help provide the assistance they need until they are able to reach a shelter or safe place. In the event that they need a hotel, gas, transportation, rental or utility assistance this program allows us to provide assistance on an emergency case by case basis. We are able to help our clients with same day resources to help them escape their situation with urgency before its too late.

Impact

With our "Flight-bag" program we have been able to serve over 750 clients over the last 5 years with supportive services, counseling sessions, backpacks filled with items for escape, and emergency financial assistance. We have been blessed to collaborate with numerous domestic violence shelters throughout middle Tn as well as, Core Civic- Davidson County, The sexual Assault Center, Federal Bureau of Investigations- Victim Services, Metro Office of Family Safety, The Legal Aid Society, Pass The Beauty, Women With Open Arms, Woman 2 Woman and many others who are also in service to victims of Domestic Violence throughout middle Tennessee.

Needs

There are over 70,000 cases of domestic violence reported in Tennessee each year. Sadly, many more go unreported. Over 30,000 of those are from Davidson County alone. Domestic violence is in most cases a secret threat to many of the members of our communities. Not only does it take an extremely brave individual to make the choice to leave, but it also takes resources to be able to survive and not go back to the situation that they were able to escape from. In some cases this can mean life or death for them and their families. We are in need of the following:

-Food/Gas gift cards
-Hygiene items
-Prepaid cell phones with minute cards
-Funding for emergency financial assistance (rental, utility assistance, car repairs, transportation costs)
-Funding to pay for and provide counseling sessions (crisis, domestic violence, mental health)
