CEO Statement
Stronger than My Father Executive Director Marcus Meneese acknowledges that his life experience of growing up in a two-parent home that was rooted in church is very much a minority opportunity today. Through extensive research and personal reflection, I have witnessed firsthand the detrimental consequences of fatherlessness on individuals and communities alike. It is our solemn duty to address this pressing issue and provide support, guidance, and resources to those affected. Together, with unwavering dedication and collective effort, we can strive to build a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive in a loving and supportive family environment."
Board Chair Statement
Hope Leadership Academy has been the dream-child of Marcus Meneese for many years. Having written the business plan for the parent organization Stronger Than My Father while completing his Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Tennessee State University, Marcus continued to perfect his plan while studying Organizational Leadership at Trevecca Nazarene University where he earned his Master's degree in the Organizational Leadership. After much study and advisement from professors, teachers, counselors, ministers, psychologists and business leaders, Marcus has launched Hope Leadership Academy which will be the backbone of Stronger Than My Father. Marcus acknowledges that his life experience of growing up in a two-parent home that was rooted in church is very much a minority opportunity today, considering many young people are growing up without a father, and some not even knowing who their father is. After studying the devastating effects of fatherlessness, Marcus has consulted with top educators, psychologists and even motivational leaders to craft a curriculum that will serve to address the symptomatic results of the fatherlessness epidemic. He has partnered with several local churches and businesses for volunteers, and has recently formed a partnership with one of Nashville's top prison reentry companies, H.U.G.G.S., Inc., where he has participated in writing two grant proposals which will allow Stronger Than My Father to address the issues of fatherlessness by providing mentorship and training for incarcerated fathers who are being released from prison. Marcus' father challenged him and his brothers to be both ethical and hard working. Over the past 13 years, Marcus has worked actively as a youth mentor, where he enjoys teaching, coaching and developing young men to become responsible men and eventually good fathers. Hope Leadership Academy will provide enrichment, encouragement and enlightenment to the girls and boys who participate. Marcus' goal is To Change Lives!
