Mission

MISSION STATEMENT: Park Center empowers people who have mental illness and substance use disorders to live and work in their communities.

Background

Park Center has been serving Nashville for almost 40 years, providing a place of hope and recovery for people seeking mental health and substance use recovery and homelessness. We meet people where they are and provide support through treatment, housing, day programs, outreach, and employment services. We provide support to help our members navigate challenges and better live and work in the community. We have pioneered and trained other nonprofits in breakthrough methods to employment and disability assistance and partnered with Vanderbilt University Medical Center in one of the country's first street psychiatry programs.

Impact

Park Center's goals include: Provide safe, affordable housing for adults with serious mental illness, addiction and homelessness in Davidson County with the support services to maintain housing. Help put people back to work and assist them in maintaining employment.Promote recovery by offering educational groups, community integration and peer support in a safe and compassionate environment. Support community efforts to eliminate the stigma of mental illness. Park Center's significant accomplishments include: Park Center currently has a total of 18 CPRPs (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioners) on staff, more than any other mental health agency in the state of Tennessee. This distinguished national certification ensures that those staff members achieve and maintain the highest professional standards. Park Center is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). Park Center has a partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center to provide mental health status exams, medication management and therapy to individuals experiencing homelessness.
