Mission

FFAS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing abused, abandoned and neglected animals in and around Middle TN area. We encourage proper pet care and advocate spaying and neutering to help stop pet overpopulation. We currently use a system of foster homes to house all the animals in our care. We are committed to long-term care and placement of all animals that come into our organization. Therefore, we do not use euthanasia as a means of population control.

Background

FFAS started in the Robertson County area in 1999. A few kind hearts got together and realized the need for a program such as ours. Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary was born. We soon expanded into the surrounding counties of Davidson and Sumner. Since then, many accomplishments have helped make FFAS one of the leaders in our area fighting against pet overpopulation. FFAS operates with an all-volunteer board and staff, which tirelessly work to save as many animals as possible. A partnership with PetSmart allows us to showcase our animals.

Impact

AccomplishmentsThrough the efforts of the board, volunteers, foster homes, and donors, we were able to place in forever homes 280 cats and 72 dogs.Expanded and modified our fundraising efforts to phase out older methods that were not cost effective. The new streamlined approach focuses on the most cost efficient methods to reach the largest possible audience. GoalsContinue to expand our social media exposure through the use of FaceBook, Twitter, our webpage and any additional methods of which we become aware.Explore new options to expand our reach to potential adopters, foster homes, and donors which in turn will allow us to save more lives.Explore new options to expand our reach to educate people about spaying, neutering, and the proper care of animals.

Needs

Expand our network of qualified foster homes - This will increase the number of animals we can rescue.Increase receipts through fundraising efforts and grants. - If we increase the number of foster homes, we in turn will need to pay for additional testing, spay/neuter, microchipping, and general welfare of more cats and dogs.Through the use of social media and other methods reach our target audience to educate them on the necessity of spay and neutering. This in turn will lessen the number of animals that are brought into the rescue.Seek contractual agreements with medical supply companies and veterinarian offices for lower cost, high quality care.

CEO Statement

We rescue animals that are frequently overlooked and considered 'not adoptable' merely because they are old or have a disability. We believe all of our animals, regardless of age or disability, deserve the comfort from a warm heart and a kind hand.
