Mission
GTO Marriage Ministries is a non-profit ministry which exists to help couples around the world prepare for and strengthen their marriages and learn how to minister effectively to other couples in need.
Background
GTO Family Ministries was founded in 1983, by Harold and Bette Gillogly and incorporated in San Diego, California in 1986. In 1993, it moved to Middle Tennessee in order to be more centrally located within the U.S.
Impact
No one can dispute the fact that marriages are in trouble today - the divorce rate is as high in the church as it is outside the church. Just as a car will break down if no maintenance is done, a marriage will break down with no attention to preventative maintenance. Instead of waiting for corrective care once the marriage is in serious trouble, every marriage needs effective, regular preventative maintenance. The goal of GTO Marriage Ministries is to pro-actively equip couples to build and maintain strong marriages and then train them to teach others how to do the same. Marriages.net, the website for GTO (Growing Toward Oneness), serves couples 24/7 where and when they need help or support. Online, on-demand marriage webinars enable couples to access more than 50 hours of practical Biblical teaching on marriage-related subjects such as communication and conflict resolution, physical and emotional intimacy, and spiritual connection. In addition to the webinars, Marriages.net offers articles, romantic tips, the exclusive 3-part Oneness Wedding Candle and the interactive couple's study, Experiencing Oneness. Despite no longer holding conferences, GTO continues to counsel couples and individuals, write articles, and develop new marriage classes and webinars.

CEO Statement
GTO Marriage Ministries is a faith based organization that has been helping marriages and families since 1983. Through the years, we have developed a three-pronged ministry: (1) Preparing engaged and newlywed couples for life-long, happy marriages; (2) Equipping married couples to build strong marriages according to God's unfailing principles; and (3) Training seasoned couples to effectively minister to marriages and families as a team in their own churches and communities. Our training is unique in that it is principle-based, not curriculum-based, and that it consists of a husband-and-wife-team philosophy of ministry. GTO's webinars, training, curriculum and newsletters prepare, enrich and restore couples around the country and the world every year.
Board Chair Statement
GTO Marriage Ministries was a Ma and Pa ministry until 2005 when they added their first staff couple and a whole new dimension to their ministry - that of engaged and newlyweds.In the past few years, economic slowing has resulted in the loss of our staff couples as they were forced to take full-time, mainstream jobs. Donations have been reduced as donors have also needed to streamline their budgets and giving. Attempts to keep our content delivery methods current and effective have been challenging with the reduced income and staff.
