New Horizons Corporation was founded in 1971 as a non-profit organization supporting the needs of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. New Horizons is focused on providing quality supports for individuals by increasing their access to the community through social, residential and employment opportunities. Our Purpose: We focus on ABILITIES: with quality support, people with disabilities can lead fulfilling and productive lives. NH provides a wide variety of programs and services to help people be as independent as possible in safe and comfortable environments. Using the latest proven best practices, our professional staff assists people with training and support, and almost all people improve significantly in their functioning, level of independence, degree of self-care, and life satisfaction. Support and Solutions: NH addresses these challenges with services and programs that include supported employment and living services, day programs, and in-home and community-based care. Our services focus on training basic life skills to maximize independence, and our programs engage people in activities guided by their interests and preferences. Specifically, we provide high quality care for behavioral needs, oversight of medical needs, employment opportunities and job support including training, daily activities and outings, community-based and assisted living opportunities and support, teaching independent living skills, and - always - acceptance and friendship. When possible, we help them to earn their own paycheck, which gives them a sense of empowerment and dignity. We serve a diverse population, regardless of ethnicity, national origin, race, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender. At NH, with our decades of experience, QUALITY is our top priority.
