Description
The Edison School program provides high-quality education to students with learning differences and varied learning styles in a supportive environment. We meet students where they are by providing an intimate and encouraging community that honors the individual, values learning diversity, and fosters personal and social growth. Our differentiated instruction methodology takes the core curriculum and adapts it for delivery in learning styles that are palatable to students. Outcomes are measured through standardized test results and classroom grades. We also measure success by attendance, given that most students with learning differences are anxious about school and don't want to attend.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Our belief that every student has the potential to learn is the guiding principle behind our mission, which is to provide an exceptional, individualized education for students with learning differences allowing them to strive for their potential. We are providing an academic environment where children with learning differences can thrive, be themselves, learn in the most effective manner for them based on their specific learning style, and grow as individuals. Our tagline, Education as Unique as Our Learners, helps the staff and administration remember that the education we provide for our students is about helping them learn about themselves and how they learn. No two people learn the same way, so it is up to us, as educators, to teach each student according to what works best for him/her. A student-centered approach to education allows Edison teachers to utilize a variety of methods in each subject so we can provide the best possible education for each student.
