The Nashville Aspiring School Leader Fellowship addresses Nashville's need for a strong pipeline of highly-effective, high-performing school leaders. Principal and mid-level school leader turnover is a perennial issue within Metro Nashville Public Schools. This revolving door disproportionately impacts student learning at high-poverty schools. TFA recruits program alumni, corps members, and other education professionals and equips them with the skills and
resources to become exceptional school principals and administrators in the highest-need schools. Through our partnerships with Lipscomb University and Relay Graduate School of Education, Fellows attend classes focused on instructional leadership, coaching, and administrator leadership. Fellows earn an Instructional Coaching Certificate, Masters of Education in Instructional Practice, and an Administration License. Lipscomb and Relay offer discounted
tuition to Fellows, and TFA provides scholarships to alleviate financial barriers.

Description
At Teach For America, we work with great urgency to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity. We recruit from our nation's most promising leaders who commit to teach at least two years in urban and rural public schools, and we invest in the training and professional development necessary to ensure their success. Our teachers (corps members) go above and beyond traditional expectations to lead students to academic success. At the same time, we know transformational teachers are just one part of the greater movement toward educational equity. This work also requires a force of leaders who have the insight and conviction that comes from teaching in low-income communities. Corps members see first-hand that educational inequity is solvable, and gain a grounded understanding of how to solve it. As alumni, they bring leadership to every level of the school system and across all fields to minimize the extra challenges facing children growing up in poverty.
