Description
We launched our rapid rehousing program in July 2019. It is a permanent housing option that works both independently of and in tandem with the transitional housing program. For instance, a resident in our transitional housing program may choose to exit into the rapid rehousing program when he/she feels prepared to do so. Our Housing Advocate works with rapid rehousing participants to secure housing, negotiate lease terms, and plan for support services. This program also takes all referrals through our newly developed coordinated entry process.

Description
Coordinated entry is a core component of systems-change work to end homelessness. It provides standardized access, assessment, and referral processes for housing and other support services in a given community. Nashville currently has a robust coordinated entry system, but it was not built with the complex needs of survivors in mind. In 2019, The Mary Parrish Center was awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Continuum of Care program to build a coordinated entry system specific to survivors in Nashville. We created this program with the assistance and support of Metro's Homeless Impact Division, Metro's Office of Family Safety, the YWCA, and Morning Star Sanctuary. Our parallel system allows survivors in Nashville to access housing and support services that prioritize safety and confidentiality.

Description
The Mary Parrish Center provides a transitional housing program for survivors who are homeless or in need of transitional housing as a result of interpersonal violence including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or human trafficking. We are a trauma-informed, Housing First program meaning we are extremely low-barrier, making it as accessible as possible for all survivors in need, especially those from traditionally underserved populations who face the most barriers in accessing and utilizing social services. We do not charge rent, and we cover the costs of all utilities. In addition to safe, individual apartments, we provide a wide range of flexible and optional survivor-focused support services designed to enhance our clients' autonomy by nurturing their capacity to live independently from their abusers, establish self-sufficiency, and secure permanent housing.
