Description
In 20-21, we will present two video programs. The first program is "Armchair Traveler" , which was released in January and available on Vimeo for 6 weeks, and featured a string ensemble performing works from musical capitals of Europe, from the period 1650-1750. The second video program will be recorded in April, with a theme of "A Season of Light and Rebirth", and examines our journey of the past year in music from a diverse group of composers.

The 21-22 concert season is currently in the planning stages. There will be a collaborative concert in March with Elevare, to celebrate the Lenten season, a foray into the Classical era for a season opener dedicated to Franz Josef Haydn, and a late spring concert (artists/theme TBA).
Program Successes
Prior to the 20-21 season, Music City Baroque had functioned on a "donation welcomed" model. Our programs rarely generated more than $300 in gate donations. Our first video production, in which we asked our mailing list for donations to support the expense of video concert production and also sold tickets (donation welcomed) to the concert video generated approximately 5x the revenue.

Long-term Success
The goal of these programs is to meet the intangible needs of persons isolated/confined/restricted by the COVID-19 pandemic through music. We also seek to introduce our audience to works that pre-date. but are seminal to, the widely known concert repertoire of Classical music organizations. In our programming, we look for underrepresented and lesser-known composers and compositions, primarily from the era from 1550-1800.
Short-term Success
Audiences that experience our programs will have a richer understanding of the relationships between music, art, and history. The genesis of different musical styles --"fiddle vs violin" --is inherent in the performance practices of the era, and is especially topical for audiences in Middle Tennessee. If one person walks out of a MCB concert hearing the similarity between Baroque ornamentation and fiddle/jazz improvisation, it's a win.
Program Success Monitored By
Our metrics are simple ---a well attended program that also stimulates donations is considered a success.
