Description
Rehabilitation and care of orphaned and injured native wildlife. Tennessee state law prohibits individuals from keeping wild animals without a permit. This is done for the well being of the animal and you. Walden's will assist you with emergency instructions for wildlife care until you can bring the animal in to our facility. We are not allowed to provide feeding instructions due to state law. We provide care and treatment to sick, injured and legitimately orphaned Native Tennessee Wildlife. We are the only professionally-staffed wildlife rehabilitation facility in Middle Tennessee. We do not charge for services and receive no federal or state funding at this time.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Every year, humans have more of a negative impact on Tennessee's wildlife. More humans mean more automobiles, and we treat more owls with head injuries. More construction means another litter of orphaned fox kits. Every time humans meet nature in Tennessee, Walden's is there to help pick up the pieces. We have a professional staff that is passionate about what they do. We have great volunteers that take care of the day-to-day animal care needs. We have a Board that is energized and involved. We have individuals and corporations who are there to donate building materials, appliances, or office supplies. Like most Middle Tennessee non-profits, we need more community support, whether it be attendance at events, ingredients for baby mammal formula, someone to do grounds maintenance or construction. Purse strings are tight, and funding streams are spread too thin. Finding a way to not only survive, but thrive... that's the ticket, isn't it?
