Description
Notes for Notes® (N4N) Nashville Studios are full production, professional level recording studios located in Boys and Girls Clubs. In Nashville, there are presently three studios situated within the Andrew Jackson, Cleveland Park and Preston Taylor Boys & Girls Clubs. Every N4N Studio is equipped with guitars, drums, keyboards, DJ gear, and recording equipment and is staffed with a highly-trained Program Director who assists youth in their journey through the creative, musical process. Youth learn everything from basic instrumentation and songwriting, to recording, mixing and mastering tracks for an album. Studios are open year-round, and available to all youth ages 5-18 but are placed in geographic areas local to youth who would not typically have access to contemporary instruments, professional recording gear, and skilled audio engineers.

Nationwide, there are presently 24 N4N Studios located in 13 states in Boys & Girls Clubs and other youth-serving facilities.
Program Successes
N4N Program Directors Will Flores and Cameron Cassell initially came to the N4N Studios as youth artists and musicians with little to no audio engineering and production experience. Over the course of their time at the Studio, Will discovered his knack for engineering and Cam discovered his songwriting and beat making abilities. They were able to hone these skills under the direction of then Program Director, Berklee Grad, Jen Hodges. When Jen relocated to N4N Atlanta, Will and Cam were hired as N4N Program Directors. Will was promoted to become N4N Lead Audio Engineer and is now responsible for recording tracks, collecting stems from other locations across the nation, and mixing and mastering tracks for the entire organization alongside his Program Director responsibilities. Without N4N, Will and Cam might never have had access to the opportunities available in the Studios completely free of charge.

Long-term Success
N4N's ultimate goal is to provide creative safe spaces for members at all levels of skill to thrive while building relationships, utilizing the universal language of music to develop 21st Century Skills. By activating a combination of mentor and peer guidance, scaffolded programs and free exploration, youth have the opportunity to seek as much or as little support needed in order to create. By combining individual, mentor focused and community centric opportunities for learning we offer an ideal situation for every type of learner and music creator. Youth that consistently attend the Studio grow in leaps and bounds in terms of what they can create and how they relate to themselves and the world around them. While every song recorded in our Studios doesn't reach the world, every song is a crucial step in our mission to utilize the universal language of music to not only Produce Tomorrow's Musicians®, but tomorrow's leaders, entrepreneurs, activists, creators and global citizens.
Short-term Success
Every aspect of N4N Programming is focused on both musical and youth development goals, moving youth to develop N4N's four pillars of Confidence, Creativity, Compassion, and Community. By taking an intentional and defined stance on what it means to be self aware through the recorded music process, N4N is seeking to equip members with 21st Century Skills like leadership, initiative, flexibility and ultimately the mindset necessary to make positive impacts on their present and future communities. A society comprised of emotionally aware and artistically talented individuals has a much greater chance of thriving. In 2019 96% of eligible members graduated from high school. It is N4N's goal that members eligible for high school graduation in 2021 continue that exemplary level of achievement.
Program Success Monitored By
Program success is monitored by a multi-angled approach. Both qualitative and quantitative data is captured on a daily basis through Salesforce studio check-ins, session hours logged, recorded music, podcasts, blogs, photos and videos. N4N has implemented a nationally structured and monitored programming which will enhance the experience of participating Nashville members, as well as the consistency of data capture. These programs, innovated in phases, are structured to capture consistent, survey-based data at uniform increments. The surveys will gradually build, taking into account the perception of member growth through self-analysis as well as feedback from Program Directors, peers, family members and N4N staff outside of the members' home studio. This varied approach to the perception of growth will create realistic and unbiased percentage scores to couple with artistic recordings, painting a full picture of the N4N process.
