Description
We provide a sewing class each week where new students are paired up with volunteers who guide them through their first four sewing projects. Students sew a tote bag, skirt, pajamas, and dress. Upon completion they are awarded a certificate of completion as well as their first new sewing machine of their very own. During this class meeting, students who have previously completed this program are welcome to return and continue to learn new things. Returning students work independently, assisting one another and seeking advice from volunteers as needed.
