Description
Blakemore Children's Center provides early childhood education and care for up to 49 children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old, in a full day (7:00 am-5:30 pm), multi-age environment. We welcome children with special needs. Our program uses an emergent curriculum based on the philosophy developed in Reggio Emilia, Italy. It is child-centered and views the child as strong and capable. Children are natural investigators. They discover and construct their learning from each other, teachers and their environment. They collaborate in their learning which is documented by both children and teachers. The curriculum follows their interests and projects can last as long as there is interest.
