Centennial Park is the proud host venue of Nashville Earth Day Festival - Music City's own celebration of planet earth. Held every April, this event features vendors focused on environmental sustainability and education. In total, over 10,000 visitors were welcomed to Centennial Park for the Nashville Earth Day Festival 2023, a record level of attendance.
For the past three years, CPC has utilized the event's net proceeds to underwrite environmental projects, focusing on other nonprofits or assisting other areas in the Metro Parks system. Funding is made available through a competitive grant program (typically open in June/July). In 2023, CPC awarded $50,000 in grants for projects focused on planting trees, promoting healthy environments for honeybees, and underwriting environmental education programs for young students throughout Nashville.

The Parthenon is the world's only scale replica of the Ancient Greek monument. Featured within the building are a fine art gallery and museum curating historical and contemporary exhibits. The upper chamber (Naos) houses the famed 42' statue of Athena and the original Parthenon marble casts. The Parthenon has become a cultural center for locals and visitors by championing arts education, established and emerging artists, and classicism. The Parthenon museum is also Nashville's front doorstep for 400,000 visitors each year as it provides a glimpse into our unique past. The permanent museum exhibits depict the creation of Centennial Park during the 1897 Centennial Exhibition. In partnership with Centennial Park Conservancy, the Parthenon offers exhibits, educational and architectural tours, symposia, STEAM nights for local MNPS schools, and weekly Kidsville sessions (when not held elsewhere in Centennial Park).

Like all well-loved treasures, Nashville's aging central park needs our help to restore, enhance, and protect it as the pulsating heartbeat of our city. To preserve this historic park, Centennial Park Conservancy launched the Centennial Park Revitalization Plan in 2010. This strategic plan has guided the transformation and restoration of Centennial Park, powered by CPC's Centennial Park Revitalization Fund. Over the last 13 years, CPC has invested $12M into the protection and preservation of Centennial Park. Program Successes
The Cockrill Spring/Lake Watauga Phase: Completed in 2015, this project was a $9 million public/private partnership that improved the water quality of Lake Watauga, unearthed long-buried Cockrill Spring, built a dedicated space for Musicians Corner, created a new parking area surrounding the Parthenon, and introduced bees to pollinate the park.
The Great Lawn Phase: Completed in 2021, this project focused on the 19-acre zone that includes the Great Lawn, the West End entrance road, and lighting/landscape improvements near the Parthenon. The Great Lawn was re-engineered with sports field-quality turf and drainage improvements to help the lawn's recovery after events.
The Children's Memory Garden: The most recently completed phase (November 2022) completely redesigned The Children's Memory Garden; this pastoral space located in the west area of Centennial Park to the rear of the Parthenon is a memorial to local children who lost their lives to violence.

More than a community concert series, the program has become a destination that showcases diverse musical talent, presents educational children's activities in partnership with Kidsville, and hosts local craft and food vendors. Attended by 75,000 people annually, Musicians Corner provides a space where culture, diversity, and family-friendly outdoor recreation collide in an inclusive celebration. 100% of the Musicians Corner artists are paid fair wages for their performances, an organizational priority. Well-known artists that have played the Musicians Corner stage include The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Emmylou Harris, St. Paul and The Broken Bones, and Chris Stapleton.
