2023: Since our last entries we have partnered with the Deford Bailey family to change Horton Street to Deford Bailey avenue. We have planted new trees to make the William Edmondson Homesite a National Level One Arboretum. Held our 2nd. Previous Updates: The FRC Youth Leadership Advisory Council has applied and received a grant to train youth in computer/internet skills. The youth will then teach the skills to seniors and other youth, the challenge will be getting enough computers to accomplish the task. This will be an opportunity to partner with the area universities to see how collaborations between youth and college students will work. The Council will meet in February to develop some strategies to accomplish their goals and a timeline to keep them on task.2017: Task completed with 66+ seniors and other residents participating in the Youth Council Internet/Computer classes, all were presented with certificates in December 2017. The youth will continue to train their students along with any new residents that want to be trained. 2) O.N.E. has expanded its partnership base to include: The All About Women/Inspire Women Health and Financial Stability Seminar Program, this is a program that brings guest speaker into a luncheon seminar setting to engage women in their concerns for their health and financial issues, the challenge is to keep this program running after the funding goes away in June. We will address the challenge by seeking funding from the residents and grant funding opportunities. It was decided to combine the health and financial stability program with the pharmacy focus group and do monthly 'Lunch & Learn' sessions to address the challenges and opportunities for both topics in 2017. 2017) Task was addressed and completed, partnering with Vanderbilt Nursing Students program we have provided weekly Lunch and Learns for last semester, we have provided two so far for this semester. Plans are for completion in April 2018.The Organized Neighbors of Edgehill works continually to address concerns and goals set by the residents in the community.2018: Organized Neighbors of Edgehill looks forward to addressing any and all of the needs identified by the residents of the Edgehill Community. 2019: Organized Neighbors of Edgehill's focus continues to be resident/community driven, we have sponsored and participated in 4 events in January. 1) All About Women Inc. The Organized Neighbors of Edgehill will continue to work toward identifying/developing community leaders to address the needs of themselves and their community.
