Inspiritus, has purchased and will redevelop the underutilized St. Paul's Lutheran Church site to expand lnspiritus' current social services and create more affordable housing in the Germantown neighborhood. Inspiritus envisions a mixed-use community designed to meet the growing needs of the neighborhood and empower low-income residents on their journey from surviving to thriving. To do so, Inspiritus will develop 8,000 square feet of ground floor space for its programs and other community service activities. ln the four stories above this space, there will be 80 affordable housing units (<60% of AMl).
Nashville has fewer and fewer affordable units in highly desirable and amenity rich neighborhoods. Inspiritus is uniquely positioned to create more units in a neighborhood where the individuals it serves are getting increasingly displaced by those who can pay a premium for the numerous advantages afforded by such a location, including access to various jobs and transit.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
Inspiritus continues to experience exponential growth in Middle Tennessee, as planned. In 2018-2019, Lutheran Services in Tennessee merged with Lutheran Services of Georgia to form Inspiritus as part of a strategic plan to sustain existing programs and funding in Middle Tennessee, and to bring significant growth and resources into the Middle Tennessee region with the expansion of programs (such as Disaster Relief and Refugee and Immigrant Services) that were operating in Georgia prior to the merger. Since 2018, Inspiritus has increased sustainability and funding for its Middle Tennessee empowerment programs, and established its Disaster Relief and Refugee and Immigrant Services as leading social services supporting annual needs in Middle Tennessee communities. Middle Tennessee development is also visible in the Board Leadership of Inspiritus, which is currently Chaired by Nashville Attorney and Partner at Bradley, Marc Bussone, and benefits from one of Nashville's most influential women, Jenneen Kaufman, who is currently acting as Board Finance Committee Chair. |
