Brian's Experience: I have served on the boards of 3 nonprofits, most notably Walden's Puddle, where we do not have an executive director, but a 5 member Executive Committee, of which I am a member. The Executive Committee was designed for utmost transparency and runs the organization. I have served on their board since 2010 and also write grants and am the Treasurer, recently working on going through an audit due to raising over $500,000 in one year. Walden's Puddle has had their share of struggles, so I am well prepared to run my own nonprofit. I am also on the board at my kid's school and help them with fundraising. So I have had some unique experiences serving nonprofits and I can only hope that iGive Foundation does not have the same problems. |
