Mission

iGive Foundation accepts donations for the greater good, to enhance the quality of life for all people through the development of organized philanthropy. We are currently focusing our efforts on supporting Veteran's programs and children's educational needs through either backpack programs, funding extra-curricular or athletic programs, or other needs of a particular school. Having said that, we can work with you to make sure your donations meet your needs and honor your wishes, even when donor discretion is requested. If you have a cause or have a need, we can help you accept donations for that cause. We are proud to say that because we are small and made up of volunteers, over 97 percent of your donation goes to your cause.

Background

We started in 2015 as a hybrid corporation, with iGive Network being the for-profit arm and having iGive Foundation as the non-profit. Recently, we focused on the non-profit side and putting iGive Network on the back burner. In 2018, we hit the ground running. First, we partnered with Warrior Expeditions and Psi Chi, the national Honor Society for Psychology, for their Got Your Six Throwdown cross-fit fundraiser. The proceeds were split between both of those organizations. We also raised funds for Hurricane Florence relief, having family members that were affected. That money was sent to a school in the New Bern area that suffered damage. For 2019, we once again partnered with the Got Your Six to raise funds for different organizations. In 2020, we have raised funds for Tornado Relief here in Middle TN, helping a couple local schools that suffered damage. COVID has obviously affected donors, reduced gatherings and opportunities for fundraising, but we are still taking advantage of all opportunities.

Impact

Being we are still somewhat new, we do not have much in terms of accomplishments. We are pleased that at this time, 100% of donations go to the cause. We did raise $2,200 for Warrior Expeditions and Psi Chi. We also raised money for Hurricane Florence and donated the money to a school in New Bern, that suffered damage. We also donated to another school in Alabama to meet their needs. Recently we helped schools that suffered damage from the tornado that affected Middle TN.

Needs

We don't have any needs at this time, other than getting the word out about the great things we are doing.

CEO Statement

As stated previously, I donate my time to the iGive Foundation. My background and full-time job is in teaching and research at the university level, which gave me experience receiving grant funding from NIH and other sources. I also volunteer my time at Walden's Puddle, where I have been a board member and their grant writer since 2010. Working with Walden's Puddle, and helping them through all their struggles has prepared me well to start my own nonprofit. We may be small, but we have lots of experience, which combined with our drive and determination, we will not fail and we plan to be helping the community for several decades. Finally, because of our small size, we can promise that at least 98% of money raised goes directly to the cause. Very few non-profits can make that claim.

Board Chair Statement

As stated before, we started out as a hybrid corporation until the decision was made to focus on the non-profit side. My role was to manage the nonprofit side, with my partner managing the for-profit side. I love my full-time paying job of teaching and research at the university level, but I also love being able to use my expertise in helping others achieve their goals. I have been on the board and writing grants for Walden's Puddle since 2010 and have also helped out at my kids school, serving on their school's board and helping with fundraising. It makes the job easier when you know your efforts are appreciated and when you see the smiles on the kids faces when you are able to provide funding for projects they enjoy, even for something as small as replacing nets on a basketball rim or providing new balls for kickball or other sports. I think all of us give, either money or our time, for that rewarding feeling knowing you helped improve someone's life. That is what drives me a motivates me to donate my time to worthy causes. While we are a new nonprofit, we have had few successes as well as challenges, but we look forward to much success in the future.
