Rebekah's Experience: Rebekah Hampton Barger has a long and well-established history of successful collaborations across a wide range of genres. She is intimately familiar with the ins and outs of managing large-scale projects, starting with choreographic commissions for large theatrical productions at the age of 15. With a multidisciplinary background ranging from classical ballet and aerial dance, to Capoeira and training as a classical pianist, Rebekah was drawn to the rich cultural history inherent to Nashville and relocated in the autumn of 2010 to found FALL, the city's first contemporary and aerial dance company. As the director of FALL, she has been at the helm of such ambitious projects as Dear Apocalypse, an evening-length journey of poetry, aerial dance, and the music of Kat Jones & The Prophets which led the audience through an exploration of what it means to process traumatic experiences, and A Bending Of Its Own Kind in which Rebekah examined her own experience with severe scoliosis. Commissioned by OZ Arts, this piece included work by other Nashville-based artists with costumes designed by Caitlin Stolley of Lily Guilder Design, new original music by electronic music duo Porcelain Teeth, live painting by visual artist Mary Mooney, and a new aerial apparatus inspired by Rebekah's spinal x-rays created by metal sculptor Robert Cortner.

As we are in just our second fiscal year as a nonprofit, our largest focus right now is setting up the initial management and operating structure. While this is a challenge, this is also a fantastic opportunity to lay our foundation thoughtfully. We are relying on the expertise of our board, working with a nonprofit consultant, and seeking advice from other successful nonprofits to ensure that we are instilling the best practices possible from the beginning. We are intentionally investing time and energy into developing our basic procedures, such as donor tracking and management, to help ensure a long and sustainable future.
