Description
Kits for Kids are simple, powerful packages filled with personal hygiene and basic 'medicine cabinet' items that are scarce in the developing world. Due to a lack of access to basic healthcare, millions of children die each year of preventable and treatable conditions. Kits for Kids allows parents to provide their children with basic care at home instead of having to travel.Project C.U.R.E. partners with schools, service organizations, companies and individuals who donate first aid and personal hygiene items for C.U.R.E. Kits for Kids. Kits for Kids are distributed to families in developing countries for use at home in the treatment of minor injuries and to encourage handwashing for the prevention of illness. Kits for Kids are shipped with donated medical supplies and equipment in C.U.R.E. Cargo containers destined for recipient healthcare facilities abroad. Kits for Kids give children and families in the U.S. a fun and educational way to help other children across the globe.

Description
Each year, Project C.U.R.E. organizes several C.U.R.E. Clinics that allow volunteer medical professionals from the U.S. to travel to resource-poor communities abroad to provide free care to under-served patients and training to in-country healthcare providers. Last year, C.U.R.E. Clinics & Training delivered health and hope to 12 countries around the world. We completed 26 Clinics and training trips serving over 10,000 patients. Project C.U.R.E. has recently added Helping Babies Survive training to its Clinics program in order to reduce newborn mortality. 432 birth attendants in six countries were trained in the Helping Babies Survive curriculum. Helping Mothers Survive is a new curriculum added to the Training. Mannequins used in the HBS and HMS trainings remain in the country and we use a Train-the-Trainer/Master Trainer model to ensure sustainability after we are gone.

Each year, more than 25,000 volunteers assist Project C.U.R.E. in readying C.U.R.E. Cargo containers at its Distribution Centers for shipment to hospital and clinics in need in developing countries. These dedicated individuals collect, sort, inspect and place the medical supplies and equipment received by Project C.U.R.E. into inventory. Each customized 40-foot Cargo container is packed carefully by hand to utilize as much space as possible and can contain everything from sterile consumables such as syringes to sophisticated equipment such as X-ray and anesthesia machines.

Description
C.U.R.E. Cargo is Project C.U.R.E.'s largest program, distributing life-saving medical supplies and equipment to hospitals, rural clinics and community health centers in the developing world. High-quality medical equipment and consumables are securely packed into 40' ocean-going containers for transport abroad. Project C.U.R.E. works closely with recipient hospitals and clinics to assess the specific needs of each facility and identify in-country sponsors so the contents of every container can be customized and reach the destination safely. Project C.U.R.E. maintains relationships with recipient countries, sponsors and other partners in order to establish long-term commitments of support and infrastructure strengthening.Since 1987, Project C.U.R.E. has provided resource-limited communities across the globe with the medical supplies and modern equipment needed to provide an adequate level of diagnosis, treatment and care for underserved patients in more than 130 countries.
